Happy New Year! Here is a quick recap of 2014 by the numbers…
The Monthly Breakdown:
Total Miles Ran:
- 2011- 1,462
- 2012- 902
- 2013- 828
Damn proud of that!
Total Time Spent Running:
Total Workouts This Year: 355, thanks to my 365 Days of Fitness challenge! My goal was to move my body in some way every day and I only missed 10 days out of the entire year. A huge difference from last year when I only had 158 workouts. I’m really proud of that.
Total Visits to the Gym: 81! Much better than last year when I only went 30 times. Eek!
Total Races Completed: 14- one more than last year! I did six 5Ks, one 15K, one 10 miler, five half-marathons and one full marathon. Check out my Running page for all the recaps!
Total DNS (Did Not Start) Races: 0 this year. Woo hoo!
Total DNF (Did Not Finish) Races: 1. My Myrtle Beach Marathon DNF where I had to stop at mile 21.37. I’ll never forget this experience and the lessons I learned from it. It ultimately made me a much stronger person and runner.
Total New PRs: 4! I PRed in the 5K, 15K, 10 mile, and full marathon distances this year 🙂 Go me!
Total Pairs of Shoes I Went Through: I am on my 4th pair right now and overdue for new ones.
Total Running Streaks: 2! My summer running streak was 101 days long and my winter running streak was 38 days. I ran at least a mile every day and learned that it’s not as hard as I thought to fit at least 10 minutes of exercise into my busy days.
Total Pounds Gained/Lost: I gained 13 pounds this year due to pregnancy 🙂
Total States I Ran In: 7. Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Oregon. Wow!
Total Running Buddies: 10! I would like to call 2014 the year of running buddies! I started a running group in June and had the most amazing time running with this awesome group of ladies. There were 7 of us that ran together- not always all at the same time but we at least had 1 buddy for most of our long runs through the summer and fall. I loved it! In addition to these ladies I also had my boys, who are two of my favorite running buddies. I was able to run with my sister a few times as well which is always special to me. Also, for the last 5 months I’ve been running with my newest buddy in my belly- our baby boy! Not included in the total number are all of the people I met by running with Team RWB this year- another amazing group. This year I really rediscovered how awesome it is to run with other people after running solo for so long, and I’m so thankful I did!
Total Wipe-Outs: Only 1 little one this year- what a great improvement! LOL. It was dark and early one morning and I tripped over a sidewalk, but caught myself before I really fell hard. It was no big deal!
Total Injuries: None this year! YAY! Currently feeling good though and hoping it stays that way!
Thank you Daily Mile for all those amazing stats! I blew away my numbers from 2013, which was a rough year for me in many ways. I even blew away my numbers from 2012! I’m so glad I was able to come back from that stronger than ever. I’m pretty sure I won’t beat any of these numbers next year since I’ll be having a baby in May but that’s okay. I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings!
